Destructive
A Rising Star for Dubai Racing!
Age: 4-year-old Gelding
Sire: More Than Ready
Trainer: Bhupat Seemar
Rating: 97 (Official British Handicap)
A Top-Class Pedigree
Destructive was sourced by Deva Racing with an eye on Dubai success. Purchased for $135,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, he is a half-brother to US black-type winner Miss Peach and a grandson of the Grade 1-placed mare Pinch Pie. His pedigree also features the 2002 Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic winner and sire Volponi, underlining a strong American dirt influence.
Early Career and Development
After a narrow defeat on debut at Chelmsford as a two-year-old, Destructive headed to Dubai early in his three-year-old season. There, he gained valuable experience, including a run in Listed company at Meydan, before returning to the UK a much-improved horse.
Breakout Season in 2025
Returning to the track as a four-year-old, Destructive has made an immediate impact:
Won a 1m½f maiden at Wolverhampton by 3¼ lengths
Won a Class 3 handicap over the same course and distance (Mark: 85)
Won a highly competitive Class 2 handicap over 1m at Lingfield (Mark: 91)
The form from these races has worked out superbly. Notably, four of his beaten rivals at Wolverhampton have since gone on to win. His Lingfield victory came against high-calibre opposition, including former Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Witch Hunter.
Now rated 97, Destructive looks poised for a step up to Stakes level, and there’s a rich programme of opportunities awaiting him in Dubai.
Joining a Top-Class Stable
Destructive will join the yard of Bhupat Seemar, UAE Champion Trainer in both 2021/22 and 2023/24. Bhupat has already delivered outstanding results for Deva Racing, most notably with Imperial Emperor, a horse he guided from a mark of 97 to international Group success on the dirt, including a dominant win in the Group 2 Al Maktoum Classic.
Imperial Emperor earned over £400,000 in five Dubai starts — a benchmark that shows what’s possible with the right horse in the right hands.
What’s Next
With his proven dirt ability, improving form, and elite training setup, Destructive ticks every box needed to thrive in Dubai. We’re incredibly excited about his future and can’t wait to see him take to the track during the 2025/26 Dubai racing season.
