£200 Per Month Training Fee from 1st January

Deva Racing is delighted to present shares for sale in an exciting yearling colt by Sioux Nation, who will be part-owned by legendary England footballer Michael Owen.

While Deva Racing and our shareholders will take a 50% interest, the remaining 50% will be owned by Michael personally, allowing our members unrivalled access to a true footballing great.

Why is Michael owning 50%?

“He’s such a nicely put together colt that I wanted to stay involved with him,” he said. “It is wonderful to share him with Deva and I know you’ll be as excited by his potential as I am.”

The colt will be based with Classic-winning trainer Hugo Palmer at the exquisitely provisioned Manor House Stables, which are based in the tranquil surroundings of rural Cheshire.

Membership of this syndicate will include an array of benefits, such as spending gallop mornings with Michael, attending the races in his company, and enjoying the splendid facilities that the purpose-built Manor House Stables has to offer.

Hundreds of winners have followed from the stable since, with Michael solely at the helm in recent years, including a famous triumph with Brown Panther in the Gr.1 Irish St Leger. Hugo Palmer took over from previous trainer Tom Dascombe in early 2022, and the yard has continued its unbroken run of success. The trainer sent out 76 winners last year and 65 and counting this season, with five Stakes races amongst this year’s tally.

Foaled in April 2024, this striking chestnut colt boasts a superb pedigree and looks a strong addition to the Deva Racing team. He is the third foal out of the placed Galileo mare Dusk, a half-sister to the dual Listed winner and Gr.2-placed Doom and a daughter of the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine Dank. The last-named is a three-parts-sister to the Gr.1 Hong Kong Cup winner and sire Eagle Mountain, who also finished second in the Gr.1 Derby, and a half-sister to the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Sulk.

This mouthwatering distaff line is sure to blend nicely with the influence of the top-class Coolmore sire Sioux Nation, a Royal Ascot and Gr.1-winning two-year-old who will stand for a covering fee of €37,500 in 2026. Since his first juveniles appeared on racecourses in 2022, the son of Scat Daddy has proven his ability to upgrade his mares time and again.

Among his best performers to date are Socks Nation, an Australian Gr.1 winner over 1m3f; the Gr.2 Challenge Stakes winner Matilda Picotte, who also finished third in the Gr.1 1,000 Guineas; the five-time Group race winner Brave Emperor; and this year’s Gr.2 Rockfel Stakes winner Zanthos, to name just a handful. The clamour for his progeny has meant that his yearlings have sold for figures including 525,000gns, 475,000gns and 325,000gns this year, while the aforementioned Zanthos realised €1,000,000 when offered at the Arqana May Breeze-Up Sale in May.

Furthermore, he would have sired a major Classic winner had Shes Perfect not been demoted from first place in the Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches in May.

It is also crucial to note that Sioux Nation combines very well with daughters of Galileo, of which Dusk is one. Most of the horses to result from that cross have won, including the previously mentioned Shes Perfect and the smart Irish handicapper Dakota Blue.

In addition to his outstanding pedigree profile, this colt is eligible for the £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus, while his purchase price means he qualifies for Band C novice/maiden races, which carried an average purse of £18,500 this year. He ticks virtually every box imaginable.

This opportunity is second to none if you are a massive football fan who loves racing; what could be better than taking a share in a superbly bred colt and sharing the ownership experience with an England football legend?
